No Licenses Found Error for SPSS on MAC OSX

Please follow the below steps to change the lock code on your machine from a 10-lock code to a 4-lock code.

If you are using SPSS version 28 or higher:

1. Open up FINDER
2. Open up the APPLICATIONS folder
3. Open up the IBM SPSS Statistics
4. Open up the Resources folder
5. Open up the Activation folder
6. Locate and right click the file echoid.dat and choose Open With, and then choose to open it with TextEdit.app (a built-in text editor on Mac)
7. Change the value in the file echoid.dat from 0x010 to 0x004
8. Save the echoid.dat file with same name
9. Run the SPSS 28 or higher License Authorization Wizard (called LicenseWizard) from /Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics/Resources/Activation while the computer is connected to the internet. Make sure you see a lock code that begins with 4- on the wizard now. Use the same 20 digit authorisation code you recevied from Hearne Software
10. REBOOT the Mac
11. Then launch Statistics 28 or higher. The software should now launch without error

If you are using SPSS version 27:

1. Open up FINDER
2. Open up the APPLICATIONS folder
3. Open up the IBM SPSS Statistics 27
4. Open up the Resources folder
5. Open up the Activation folder
6. Locate and right click the file echoid.dat and choose Open With, and then choose to open it with TextEdit.app (a built-in text editor on Mac)
7. Change the value in the file echoid.dat from 0x010 to 0x004
8. Save the echoid.dat file with same name
9. Run the SPSS 27 License Authorization Wizard from /Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics 27/ while the computer is connected to the internet. Make sure you see a lock code that begins with 4- on the wizard now. Use the same 20 digit authorisation code you recevied from Hearne Software
10. REBOOT the Mac
11. Then launch Statistics 27. The software should now launch without error

If you are using SPSS version 26:

1. Open up FINDER
2. Open up the APPLICATIONS folder
3. Open up the IBM folder
4. Open up the SPSS folder
5. Open up the Statistics folder
6. Open up the folder for version 26
7. Locate the "SPSSStatistics.app", right click it, and choose "Show Package Contents"
8. Open up the "Contents" folder
9. Open up the "bin" folder
10. Locate and right click the file echoid.dat and choose Open With, and then choose to open it with TextEdit.app (a built-in text editor on Mac)
11. Change the value in the file echoid.dat from 0x010 to 0x004
12. Save the echoid.dat file with same name
13. Run the SPSS 26 License Authorization Wizard from /Applications/IBM/SPSS/Statistics/26/ while the computer is connected to the internet. Make sure you see a lock code that begins with 4- on the wizard now. Use the same 20 digit authorisation code you recevied from Hearne Software
14. REBOOT the Mac
15. Then launch Statistics 26. The software should now launch without error
