Remark Office OMR is the first plain paper OMR solution, that allows you to design and control your own forms. There is no need to learn a special form designer. Instead, simply create forms in any word processor and duplicate them on a laser printer or photocopier. The software works with virtually any image scanner or multi-function device through its TWAIN driver or by reading various image file types (TIFF/PDF/others). Once data are collected, Remark Office OMR grades or tabulates the data using the built-in analysis component, Remark Quick Stats, or you can export your data to over 35 different formats, including SPSS, Excel, Access, SQL Server, Oracle and more.
Scanning Forms
With Remark Office OMR, you can take full advantage of any image scanner or multi-function machine (printer, scanner, copier, fax all-in-one) to scan and process your survey or test forms. There is no need to buy dedicated scanning equipment, allowing you to maximize functionality while minimizing costs. The software works in two ways: 1) with a TWAIN enabled scanner or multi-function machine directly connected to the software, or 2) by reading images (TIFF, PDF, BMP, JPG, PCX, and PNG) created by networked scanners, multi-function machines or other scanners. This combination allows you to read images from virtually any scanning machine.
Remark Office OMR reads OMR areas (optical marks such as bubbles), OCR areas of computer-generated text and barcode information from your forms. Handwritten areas are captured as image snapshots for later key entry, viewing in an analysis report or coding into themes. Built-in exception handling easily locates and allows you to correct or verify any erroneously marked forms (example: a person fills in two marks for a question, or fails to answer a question).
Grade Tests and Analyze Surveys
Remark Office OMR includes Remark Quick Stats, a built-in analysis and reporting package that is used to tabulate surveys and grade tests. With the click of a button, the software provides many standard reports. Reports are customizable in terms of information displayed, colors, fonts and graphics. All reports can be exported to various formats, including PDF, and emailed in order to get information into your constituents' hands quickly and efficiently.
For survey style forms, reports such as an item analysis, item statistics or crosstabs are available. Each report contains a variety of statistics including; Mean, Variance, Standard Deviation, Standard Error, Min, Max, Range, Median, Skewness, Kurtosis, T-Value, Percentiles, Confidence Intervals and more. View open ended questions in a single response report. In addition, view results by groups of questions to gauge performance better, or compare responses by demographics or other criteria. If you administer tests, the software automatically grades them. Using the Easy Grade option, simply put the answer key on top of the test forms, scan the forms and click the Grade button. Or customize the grading process by using a specialized grade scale, adding learning objectives to create scores for subsets of questions, compare student scores to established benchmark scores and other options, the software grades the test and produces statistics and graphs representing the item analysis, frequency distribution, student scores and several other test statistics.
